SLEEPY HOLLOW

PLOT:

Sleepy Hollow is a 1999 American Gothic supernatural horror film^[3] directed by Tim Burton. It is a film adaptationloosely inspired by the 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving and stars Johnny Deppand Christina Ricci, with Miranda Richardson, Michael Gambon, Casper Van Dien, and Jeffrey Jones in supporting roles. The plot follows police constable Ichabod Crane (Depp) sent from New York City to investigate a series of murders in the village of Sleepy Hollow by a mysterious Headless Horseman.

Development began in 1993 at Paramount Pictures with Kevin Yagher originally set to direct Andrew Kevin Walker's script as a low-budget slasher film. Disagreements with Paramount resulted in Yagher being demoted to prosthetic makeup designer, and Burton was hired to direct in June 1998. Filming took place from November 1998 to May 1999, and the film was released to generally favorable reviews from critics, and grossed approximately $206 million worldwide. Sleepy Hollow won the Academy Award for Best Art Direction

OPINION:

Honestly, I liked this movie a lot. I found it very interesting. I really like the role of the protagonist, especially the one played by Johny Deep. The part that I liked the most about the movie was when, in the end, they discovered who was really the murderer. I liked it also because it's a medium film and I like it a lot.

Hi Jeff,

How are you? What have you been doing since I saw you last? You won't believe it, but I've started rowing.

I deciden to go along to row because football was boring. I prefer rowing than football because I train a lot, I have a lot of friends there and it is more intensive. Now we are training for a competition.

Has that ever happened to you? I mean, have you had an opinion about something but then got involved in it and changed your mind? It's never happened to me before! I feel much more responsable now.

MY LAST SUMMER

Hello, today I'm going to talk about my summer holidays. First of all, I'm going to talk about the days in June and first days of July. Second, I'm going to talk about my trip to Napols and finally I'm going to talk about the 11th of September, Catalonia's day.

When I finished school, I trained a lot because on the 7th, 8th and 9th of July I had a rowing competition. These weeks were very hard and intensive. I trained every day between two and four hours. When I finished the competition I relaxed. In the morning I played computer games and, in the afternoons I hung out friends every day.

In August I went to Napols. I stayed there one week and, sincerely, I had fun. We visited a lot of monuments, ruins and, obviously we relaxed on the beach or in the bedroom of the hotel. We returned by plane.

The 11th of September was a very special day for all the catalan people. We celebrate the National day of Catalonia. All the people that were wanted the independence of Catalonia. In Barcelona there were 1 Million people! The worst part of the day was that it was the last summer day. Luckily I had finished my homework.

1.- The thing that most surprised me was how the police hit all the people who peacefully wanted to vote. The words of Mariano Rajoy also surpassed me. I don't understand how the goverment said they were one of the best democracies in Europe. It also shocked me to say that voting is undemocratic. I'm not agree with the words of Mariano Rajoy. Also I'm not agree the way in which Spain manipulated the information that arrives about Catalonia.

I'm agree with this sentence: "With this day of hope and suffering, the citizens of Catalonia have won the right to an independent state in the form of a republic,"

WRITING A FORMAL LETTER:

Dear Sir or Madam.

I'm writing on the behalf of the football team to tell you about the new houses campaign. One year ago, the local council promised to build these houses in another city place, but we are still waiting.

We saw that the council was going to build the houses in the park, so we ask for build a new football pitch. If you don't do this, we are going to contact the media next month. Sure they are going to do this.

In order to publize our campaign, we would be very grateful if they do this.

When a man who was walking in the street couldn't find her wallet, he decided to shout. Many people came there, and called the police officer.

Two thieves had stolen the wallet and also used her credit card and spent 200€. First, they had spent the 200€ in weapons. Suddenly, they decided to use the identity card to travel to another country to escaped from police, but they couldn't do it.

Finally, the police officers arrested the two thieves. They were very popular because in the past, they did a lot of pickpocket crimes. They returned the money and the credit card to the man.
